Snow Days!

Well, we finally got some snow here. We ended up getting at least 6 inches but it might as well have been 2 feet. I didn't go to work last Wed, and spent the day with Sydney and enjoying the snow day we got. We got to go play outside for a bit, but not long, because it was really cold. Sydney loved the snow, of course she loves being outside-period. Cicero was having fun too, running like the crazy puppy she used to be, licking snow and playing with it. Unfortunately the snow was very powdery so we didn't get to make a snowman and Syd had a hard time picking it up with the snowsuit mittens she had on. But we still had fun. She went down her slide (very slippery) and got to swing for awhile. Then we just walked around the yard yelling for Cicero to 'mere (come here)-she couldn't get enough of the dog that day. We only stayed outside for about a half an hour (it got cold), but we had a blast for the short time we were there.

I love snow, as long as I get the chance to play in it while it is here. I almost hope we get some more, just so i can make a snowman!!

Bathtime Fun

Sydney is a bathtime freak. She LOVES getting a bath. If you ask her if she wants to take a bath, she shreiks all the way to the bathroom, and can barely get her clothes off because she is so excited. The other day, she spent almost an hour in the tub. She just played and played. the water was cold and she was completely wrinkled when she was done. At one point, I turned around after doing laundry (right across the hall) and she had letters stuck everywhere on the tub.. One of our rules is don't stand in the tub...I think she disobeyed that rule, but it was funny enough to see that she got them so high and on every space she could reach, and was so proud of herself, I had to take a picture.

We also have some news, for those who don't know, we had our ultrasound on 1/22 and they are telling me we are having another girl!! The pictures I got aren't very good, so I don't have any pictures to post. I am having another ultrasound 2/19 (the dr wants better pictures of the heart and spine), so hopefully we will get some good profile or hand and foot shots then. Sydney still isn't quite "aware" that there is going to be an actual baby living in the house, but she does know that there is a baby in mommy's belly... she giggles when she hears it or says it. But anyway, hopefully we will have pictures to show soon!

Flowers, Flowers everywhere!

Well, Sydney's room is finally complete. I organized the closet, we moved all of her clothes from the "baby's" room, she has a dresser and all of her toys in her room, and the final touch was the amazing flowers that Grandma Lynn painted on the wall to match Sydney's comforter. As you can see from the pictures they are huge, and they match the comforter perfectly. Sydney is so proud of them, if you walk in the house, and haven't seen them, the first thing she does is say "flowers" and takes you to her room to see them. We really can't thank Grandma Lynn enough for completing Sydney's room so perfectly....
Thank you!!!

Magic House Fun!!

I know, it has been forever since I posted-sorry. New Years was fairly uneventful for us, we hung out at home and relaxed New Years Eve with cousin Stephen, Michelle and Wesley. We just sat around, talked and played WII. New Years Day Derek and I took Sydney to the Magic House. I was very excited to take her, it had been forever since I had been there, and I was hoping Sydney would have fun. I think she did, although there were alot of things that weren't for her just yet. That place is huge, alot bigger than I remember, but it has been probably 20 years since I was there last. We went and saw and did everything we possibly could.

There were lots of kids (although it could have been worse) and Sydney is a bit on the shy side, so there were things she wanted to do, but didn't want to get in the middle of a bunch of kids, so we will have to wait until next time.

I really can't wait to take her back there in a couple of years, when she is a bit bigger and able to do and understand more things. It was a bit pricey, but worth it. If you are looking for something to do with kids, I highly recommend it. Parents can have just as much fun as the kids!!

Here are some pictures from our day.

Big Girl!!

Sliding, one of her favorite things to do!

Walking a Balance Beam in the air.

Playing in the sand, another favorite.

Looking in a Teepee

The electric ball thing didn't work so well on my hair.

Princess Sydney

(you might have to make this one bigger to see her)

Play Date

Well, Sunday Sydney and I had a play date. We went to see my friend Carrie from work, and her 2 kids. Christian, who will be 2 in Feb and Isaac, who is 3 weeks. We exchanged a couple of gifts and was able to catch up on some things, since Carrie has been away from work for 3 weeks, and won't be back for another 4. :( Sydney got this really cool puzzle book from Christian and Issac, and she loves it. She also loved playing with all of Christians toys, and racing Christian around the kitchen with little chairs. She wasn't to sure of Isaac at first, she wanted me to "put him back (in the bouncer) " when I first picked him up, but she warmed up quickly and realized that he was no threat to her mom, she even held him for a couple of minutes!

Christmas is here and gone again!

Cole, Sara, Sydney, Alex and Jacob

Well, another Christmas has come and gone. We have been very busy over the past month, with a "Christmas" almost every weekend. Dec 13th we had Christmas at Aunt Marlenes with Derek's extra extended family, Dec 20th we had 2 Christmas', one at Aunt Marcia's with Dereks extended family (cousins, etc) , and one at Brett's and Robyns with my brothers and parents. The first picture up top is all of the cousins from Brett and Robyn's house. Then Christmas Eve we went to my mom's house with my Dad's side of the family. 2nd picture is of Sydney in her Christmas dress, and the 3rd picture is her and cousin Bella. Christmas Day we opened gifts at our house, went to Derek's parents for awhile, and then went to Waterloo to my uncle Chuck's house for my moms side of the family. The next pictures are Syd opening gifts at home. ( my camera died, so i didn't get many) We finally wrapped Christmas up this past Saturday at Derek's parents with family. We did manage to work in a visit to Santa, Sydney just wasn't real sure about him, and the only reason she was on his lap is because he had a candy cane. :D I was right next to her the whole time, and she didn't freak out like I thought she would.
Sydney got lots of cool things for Christmas, lots of Clipos (block things) movies, coloring things, books, clothes, etc. It was a very good (but long) Christmas season. Next to come is 2009! Wow, right around the corner too.
